Windsor Festival - Community Service Hours
Volunteer Opportunities

This year, Family Shows Canada will sponsor the 2nd annual RibFest at
the Waterfront Festival Plaza in Windsor. Lots of fun volunteer
opportunities are available. Hours are eligible for Community Service
Hours. Volunteer Coordinators will provide training and supervision.
Volunteers receive festival T-Shirts, refreshments and light meals.

Festival Activities Volunteers:
During each festival, the volunteer positions do not require much
physical strength. They include looking after children’s activities,
cleaning tables, grounds maintenance, product distribution and
mascots. Duties can be rotated to give you a variety of roles. There
are 2 shifts available each day for these positions.

Parking Control Volunteers:
Parking control positions start earlier each festival day and require
“outgoing” people who are comfortable monitoring and ensuring only
authorized vendors use the designated parking spaces. This includes setting
up and removing parking pylons & signs each day.

Festival Set-Up and Takedown Volunteers:
During the 2 days prior to each festival, set-up activities are available
and the day after each festival takedown activities are available. These
are physical tasks that involve loading & unloading trucks, lifting boxes,
tables & chairs, cleaning tables, setting up tents and fences, setting up
children’s activities. Morning and afternoon shifts are available for set-
up and takedown. Please volunteer for setup & takedown only if you are
comfortable with these physical tasks.
